Responsible marketing companies respect your choice to not receive telemarketing calls. DMA members, as a condition of membership, are required to suppress the phone numbers of individuals who have registered on the federal government’s Do Not Call (DNC) Registry and those who have notified the DMA that they do not want to receive telemarketing calls. As a DMA member, Experian subscribes to and suppresses any phone number on the DMA's Telephone Preference Service file from its telemarketing lists.
DMA's Telephone Preference Service (TPS)
If you are a resident of PA or WY, you can register for DMA's Telephone Preference Service (TPS), which is the Official Do Not Call list for the States of Pennsylvania and Wyoming. To register your opt-out preference, please visit https://www.dmachoice.org/DMAdnclist/index.php.
Federal Trade Commission's Do-Not-Call Registry
Other consumers who wish to decrease the amount of unsolicited telemarketing calls they receive should register with the Federal Trade Commission's National Do Not Call Registry. The federal government's Do Not Call (DNC) Registry allows you to permanently restrict telemarketing calls by registering your phone number at donotcall.gov or by calling 1 888 382 1222. The Federal Trade Commission advises that it is not necessary to register cell phone numbers on the DNC Registry despite e-mail claims circulating on the Internet telling you to do so.
Placing your number on this national registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all of them. Calls that are still permitted include those from:
• Political Organizations
• Charities
• Telephone surveyors
• Some insurance situations
• Organizations with which you have a relationship
Contacting Experian to opt out
You also may contact Experian directly to be suppressed from Experian's telemarketing lists. Opting-out of telemarketing from Experian will only stop telemarketing that uses Experian’s marketing data. You may continue to receive telemarketing calls as advertisers often work with multiple data providers such as Experian.
You can contact Experian by calling us at 1-833-210-4615 or by sending your complete name (including any name variations), mailing address, complete telephone number (including area code), and email address to optout@experian.com or to the below postal address.
Experian
PO Box 703
Allen, TX 75013
Please specify if you wish to be removed from mailing lists, telemarketing lists or online targeted advertising. If you move or change your name, you will need to opt-out again with your new address or name.
When you opt-out with Experian, your information is not deleted from the Experian marketing database. Experian will mark your record as “Do Not Mail” for a period of 5 years. If Experian removed your information completely, we would have no way to know your telemarketing preference.
